Transportation and Warehousing includes businesses for the storage of materials, goods and equipment; terminals for the storage or transshipment of materials, goods and equipment; and the distribution and sale of materials, bulk goods and equipment. This also includes transportation services such as taxicabs, limousines, tour companies, couriers and deliveries, motor vehicle towing, charters including both ground and air service, all rail, air and marine transportation, as well as postal services and shipping agencies. Warehousing includes mini-storage facilities and machine or equipment storage sites.

Depending on the nature of your business, the following may be required to complete your business licence application:

• Number of employees (your employee count should include the business owner)
• Floor area (in m²) of your business location.
• All carriers, vehicles hauling any description of goods or passengers, must provide the number of vehicles in their fleet. Those carriers with passengers such as taxis, limos, wine tours etc. are required to provide their BC Commercial Passenger Transportation Licence. Commercial vehicles with a seating capacity of 10 or more passengers plus the driver or a gross vehicle weight of more than 5,000 kg are also required to provide their BC Motor Vehicle National Safety Code Certificate to complete their application. These requirements do not apply to Ride Hailing Passenger business models. Carriers operating a Ride Hailing business must provide a Transportation Network Service Licence.
• Boat tour operators are required to provide a copy of their Pleasure Craft Operators Card, a copy of their liability insurance, location of pick up and a copy of their Commercial Passenger Vessel Licence to Use Contract if operating on a City dock. See Schedule C of the of the Parks and Public Spaces Bylaw.
