Sales includes, but is not limited to; pawnbroker and second-hand dealers, retail, wholesale, online and direct marketing sales of goods (excluding liquor and cannabis), sales of agricultural products, vending machine, automated teller machine, trade shows, vendor markets, food trucks, food trailers, and mobile retailers.

Depending on the nature of your business, the following may be required to complete your business licence application:

• Number of employees (your employee count should include the business owner, but exclude all contractors/subcontractors as they are required to obtain their own business licences)
• Floor area (m²) of your business location.
• Farm retail businesses will be required to upload a floor plan, both indoors and outdoors, detailing the usage in square meters of farm retail products and secondary non-farm retail products. See Zoning Bylaw No. 12375
for details.
• If your business will be retailing fire arms you will be required to provide a copy of your Fire Arms Retail Licence.
• If you are a mobile vendor operating on city property you will be asked to provide your Concession Permit. If you are a mobile vendor operating on private property you will be asked to provide a written approval/lease from your landlord, a copy of the site plan and demonstrate reasonable access to washroom facilities.
